Go Beyond Short-term Distractions

When you control your distractions and start driving your focus to your goals life starts changing.

But this is not an easy process. This needs intense attention and lots of perseverance. Sometimes, you need to show lots of courage. Sometimes, you need to denounce most of your old habits. The human mind is peculiar in many aspects. It looks for short-term pleasures and immediate results. Our social and professional environments appreciate positive results only – not the efforts. No one wants to hear your story of failures when you fail over and again. People love to hear and appreciate those failure stories that end up in success. Keep in mind that if your short-term goals are not connected to your long-term goal then the short-term goals are not “goals” – those are distractions.

Short-term gains mostly come with intense pleasure, lots of appreciation, claps, and mental satisfaction. That is why they are so interesting. We forget that long-term gains are more important than short-term gains. Only if you are focused on long-term goals and gains, you are going to survive; otherwise, your life wouldn’t find any purpose and you’ll lose interest in anything soon. We have to understand that life beyond those attractive and provocative short-term pleasures is much more beautiful and cherishing.
